A thorough pre-use inspection is mandatory before operating any telehandler. This inspection ensures the machine is safe and fit for purpose.

Inspection Checklist
Walk-Around Checks
- Check for visible damage, leaks, and loose components
- Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and correct pressure
- Check hydraulic hoses and connections for leaks
- Verify the load chart is visible and legible
- Check mirrors, windows, and visibility aids
Operator Cab Checks
- Test all controls and warning devices
- Check lights and indicators are functioning
- Verify horn and reversing alarm work
- Test footbrake and parking brake
- Check seatbelt condition and operation
Functional Checks
- Test boom extension and retraction
- Check all hydraulic functions smoothly
- Test steering in both directions
- Verify brakes hold the machine on a slope
